Supporting Justice-Involved Students to be Career-ready: The role of Career Service Professionals
Ebenezer Kofi Asiaw
Learning Lab #2

Justice-involved students are students who have had previous encounters with the criminal justice system, and they form a significant portion of the underrepresented population within higher education that we often overlook. These students face various barriers that are unique to them, including societal stigma, systemic discrimination, and limited access to resources, and these hinder their ability to succeed academically and professionally. This presentation explores the critical challenges faced by these students to become career ready and highlight the essential role of career service professionals towards bridging this gap.
