Concurrent Session #2
Campus employment can be the first job experience for many students. Despite this, work study positions are often under-utilized as an opportunity for students, giving them the bare minimum in skills development. But campus employment can be used to give students purpose and ownership of their workplace and provide opportunities to create belonging within their campus community. This session will explore how supervisors, advisors, and/or mentors can develop strategies to build a holistic approach to student development in their student employment positions and utilize accessible, affordable, and adaptable tools to both guide and assess students in the process.
