The Ohio College Personnel Association (OCPA) will welcome undergraduate, post-baccalaureate, and graduate students interested in the field of Student Affairs to the Careers in Student Affairs Conference, which will center on the theme “A Brighter Future in Student Affairs”.

The conference will afford attendees the opportunity to learn about the profession of Student Affairs, explore the numerous functional areas within Student Affairs, develop skills necessary to enter the field and be introduced to some of the historical and contemporary aims of higher education as a profession. The tentative schedule follows:

8:15 AM – 9 00 AM

OCPA Board Meeting

The Call for Programs for the OCPA Careers Conference is now open! Please consider submitting a program proposal at this link and encourage graduate students, new professionals, functional area experts, and others to present to an audience of students considering a career and/or advanced studies in Student Affairs. Topics should focus on the conference theme, “A Brighter Future in Student Affairs”, but can span a wide array of topics from professional skills and development, functional area spotlights, selecting a graduate assistantship, and more! To submit a program proposal please complete the OCPA Careers Conference Proposal Form. The deadline to submit program proposals is Friday, September 6th.

If you have questions about program proposals or wish to serve as a program proposal reviewer, please contact Jivanto (Jvanhemert1@udayton.edu), Assistant Careers Conference Chair. Serving as a program proposal reviewer is a great opportunity for new professionals and graduate students to serve our profession and our association while simultaneously gaining valuable insight into how programs are reviewed and selected.
