Mood changes can also be triggered by our environment, especially during the winter months when we experienced "the blues" or seasonal affective disorder (SAD). This knowledge inspired me to research food recommendations that support a healthy gut and a happy brain. After compiling a list of the food recommendations, I turned to the Food Network experts for some delicious recipes. Foods for Winter Health:
- Low-fat or nonfat yogurt
- Nuts
- Kiwifruit, oranges and berries
- Fermented foods
- Dark green leafy vegetables
- Fatty fish
- Dark Chocolate (My favorite)
