Greetings from the OCPA Mentorship Team,
Thank you so much for your interest in the new & developing OCPA Mentorship Program. Below you will find more information about this opportunity-- please feel free to share any of this information with colleagues, students or anyone that you think would be good for this program.
Goal
The goal of the OCPA Mentorship program is to provide prospective Student Affairs Practitioners with a network of professionals in the field through one-on-one connection(s).
Matching
Mentees will be assigned for the rest of the 20-21 academic school year to a professional at an institution that they are not currently affiliated with. Mentors and Mentees will be notified of their match as part of the OCPA Careers Conference on Saturday, October 17, 2020. Participation in the 2020 OCPA Careers Conference is not required but highly encouraged.
Time Commitment
While there is no formal time commitment associated with the OCPA mentorship program, we will say that like all relationships you put into this program what you get out of it. Mentors and mentees will receive an email once every two months with an activity that mentorship pairs can do together. We ask that the mentors and mentees meet at least once between being matched and the OCPA Annual Conference at the end of January 2021, but mentorship pairs can meet as many times as they feel would be best for their relationship.
Participation
Folks can express their interest in participating when registering for the Careers Conference at this link. If you’ve already registered and would like to update your interest in the mentorship program or if you would like to talk further please feel free to contact Mary Kate Gallagher at gallagher.881@osu.edu.
Take care,
Mary Kate
