How engaged are you in OCPA’s new membership engagement platform – CampusGroups? Since OCPA’s full launch of CampusGroups this year, we’ve set out to make sure that our membership is getting their best experience possible. CampusGroups is much more than just a system for OCPA leadership to manage membership and event registrations – it’s a tool that can help all members find connection and engagement with the association. Traditionally, CampusGroups is used as a student organization and engagement platform – but we at OCPA are taking it in another directly. Some of you may be veterans and familiar with the system, yet others may be new.
Here are three quick tips to get the most out of your online experience.
- Update your profile. Add your pertinent information to your account. This information helps others in the system know who you are. Did you attend the Annual Conference last month and see the other users in the Campus Groups app? Just think if everyone had an updated picture, institution details, contact information, and more! Providing all of that information can help you build a strong network across the state or at a college or university you’re interested in.
- See what’s coming up with OCPA. Events, webinars, and more can be found on your CampusGroups home screen. Plan your Ohio professional development calendar by exploring our upcoming Book Club or attending GSAC – all of the information, registration details, and who’s attending can be found right there in the event.
- Points! You can earn points for your activities in CampusGroups. Adding a profile picture? Points! Attend an event? Points! Using the app? Points! More points can earn you a spot on the leaderboard. As we begin more integration with CampusGroups, we’ll start involving those points and other gamification of the system in the future.
As we look to integrate more and more technology into the OCPA landscape, we want to hear from you – our members. How can we improve our technology reach? Is there something exciting you’ve seen on your campus that you think could benefit OCPA? Our we doing our best to leverage the technology we currently use? What are some of the tech trends you’re seeing on campus and could they benefit the OCPA community – like Kahoot? OCPA is consistently trying to find new ways to engage members at any level of their journey.
Thank you for all of your patience as we run through some growing pains with the system and letting us learn as we go. It is our sincere hope that we have provided you with a way of engaging with our association that is user-friendly and helpful. Please – reach out (you can email me at mjoseph@wooster.edu) to let us know how we can help you better understand CampusGroups and put more tech in your hands!
