SOCHE Lunch and Learn: Leave Your Doubt at the Door - Serving Neurodiverse Students
Registration
Details
This webinar will discuss challenges faced by today's college students who are neurodiverse and how the Tartan TOPS Program is providing pathways to college and careers for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
People who are neurodiverse, particularly those who have intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), are less likely to attend college and obtain gainful employment, but they often have a strong desire to work and be active members of their communities.
Together we will unpack why these disparities exists and how Sinclair serves students with IDD and other disabilities through the Tartan TOPS Program, Autism Support Group, and Accessibility Services. We will work to change the focus from people's deficits and instead will discover how focusing on strengths can stretch abilities to new horizons.
